Playtime with Mae

Halloween 2009

This was our first stop....Grandma and Papa's. Madi and I were matching scarecrows....and Daddy was a mullet wearing something.

Doesn't he look nice.

It took some coaxing...but Madi finally let me paint her face.

After trick or treating...Daddy and Mommy went to a Halloween Party. Mommy changed into a Devil ...and i looked mighty fine. I was going to be a bride..but it didn't fit my belly come Halloween time. But I did have a red dress the still fit.....so I was a sexy she devil. But we didn't get any pics of it....sorry.

Running

We had the carpets cleaned and moved all the furniture out. Mae and Madi had the best time runnign around in all the open space.

It's a BOY!!!!

Yes sirry bobber......it is a boy. We had out ultrasound on Friday (10/23) and there were 10 fingers, 10 toes, 4 heart chambers, good heartbeat....and yes, a little pee pee. It was hard to get a picture of his face. He had his hands up to his face like a boxer. Imagine that...a fighter. THe ultrasound tech poked him to get him to roll over and the little guy pushed back. Imagine that.... We have it on video and once we find someone who still has a VCR we will watch it (he he he)
On MOnday I will scan our pics and post them. TIll them, wish us luck thinking of boy names and send prayers that everything goes smoothly like it has been.

How I am feeling

I am 4 months pregnant and I am finally in the stage where my energy level is high and the queeziness is gone.... turns out I want to eat all the time. More specifically I want to eat pickles....WIERD. I was doing pretty well, but about 3 weeks ago I got a sore throat. It would come and go throughout the day....but was always there (if that makes sense to ya).
then finally a few days ago i got the rest of the cold. I thought I was at the tail end of it today....but as the day went on I regressed to another sore throat, no voice, ear aches and a headache. It is hard to chase a 2 year old with no voice.

My belly size changes daily...sometimes my belly sticks out and I look 7 months pregnant and other times I don't look pregnant as all ( just full). But I have felt the baby move.
We will find out November 3rd what the sex of the baby is....we will let you all know.
Gonna go to bed now. Gotta get some rest. Night night

PLAY TIME

I left Madi unattended while watercoloring......oops.
Good thing watercolors washes off easily.
Mae has come over everyweek for a bit of a play date. The girls play so well. Each week we seem to play hats (see rach's photo of Mae in the green hat). She get very excited when she comes to play and we are happy to make new memories and adventures with her. Sometimes we do watercolors.....but i DO supervise those. If not....I couldn't image what two 2 year old could do together (see pic above).

Heartbeat

I had a doctor appointment last week where I got to hear the heartbeat. It was a little scary for a while, because they couldn't find the heartbeat. THey brought in 3 different machines and two different nursed tried. After a while the second nurse found it.....whew!!!! Poor mommy. BUt the heartbeat was a strong 160 bpm. Everything else is looking good. We should be able to find out the sex of the baby in November....we will let you know at that time. In the mean time.....vote on it.

Madi counts to 17 and is coming along very well on her abc's

Impromptu Camping 2009

So I woke up on Friday and decided that we needed to go camping. I called Jason after he woke up and said..."guess what". So Friday after work we pulled out our camping stuff and Saturday morning we pulled out. We went to Feragaut State Park in North Idaho on Lake Pend Orelle.
It was kinda of a crazy trip from the initial idea to getting everything set up to cooking meals. But it was lots of fun and I like that we can still pack up at the last minute and do something just like we used to.
We got only one radio station, so Jason fixed the it...if you look close he jammed a marshmallow poker into the radio....and presto bingo.....we had some tunes to sing to and dance to.
We went for hikes and poked out feet in the cold cold water.

It was great to spend time together with no tv's, not phones, no nothing....just us enjoying the brilliant stars and campfire. We hope to do it again.

new baby!!

As most of you already now, we are going to be expecting another baby in the spring. The bundle of joy is due March 18th. I have a Dr appointment tomorrow (Tuesday) where i can hear the heartbeat for the first time. I will let you all know how that goes. I will try to post a belly pic soon.

up to date

We spent most of the day Saturday with family for Jason and Steve birthday party. We had a great time catching up with family that came in from out of town. Madi sure was a ham. She is a handful...but super cute.

What a face! Who could resist this face!!!!
We got an ice cream cone for Madi. It was blue. She fell asleep while eating it and....well...as you can see blue all over. What a sticky mess.

Madi 2 Year Appointment

Madi has her 2 year appointment yesterday. She is 27 pounds (56% percentile) and 37 inches (95% percentile). The doctor wanted to wait to give her shot till she comes in the fall to get a flu shot. She is strong and healthy. I can't believe how many words she uses now. To be honest...i can't believe how grown up she is....My Moonchie is 2.
I would love to type that she is a pretty easy kids....but she AIN'T - what toddler is really i guess. But she has so much emotion. I love the passion in her. She is very independent too. She want to do everything herself....my mom says I was the same to.
She loves baby dolls. NONE of them have names...they are all "baby". My mom got a stroller for her birthday and she love to push her babies (one of which is Curious George) around the block.
We walked to a local market the other day and she pushed her stroller, then when we got in the store she picked out the vegetables and fruit to buy, then we walked home. She was very happy to do what Mommy always does.
She loves to read, she loves her movies, she loves walks. And when someone leaves she says "Bye Bye....Soon" which is her way of saying "See you soon".
Her little voice is heaven.

Zoo & Aquarium

Madi LOVED te aquarium
She LOVES her Aunt Nini too. SHe wanted Nicky to hold her the entire time pretty much. We even got to touch the sea cucumbers, starfish, and annennomaes (i will post that video when I figure it out).

These are two random people....but it was a cool pic. We saw sea loins, seals, diving birds, sharks...so much to see

that is a putter fish (blow fish)

The zoo was amazing. We saw a family of gorillas. Here is a baby on its momma. We were able to get so close. They have fingernails.....it was so cool.

We got some video of two fighting then the silverback coming in...once again...gotta figure it out

a monkey

Madi looks like she is on a safari. We don't have picutres of big things like elephants and giraffes.....why you ask. Madi was terrified of them. Most of the park we heard "no elephant"

But we got this close to a tiger

Day 1 and 2

We left for Seattle on Friday night and found a hotel in Ellensburg (yuk). Saturday morning we continued on to Seattle - and boy and I glad we broke the drive up. We were able to wake up at a reasoable hours and still get to Seattle when we wanted. We arranged our hotel in Bellevue through Priceline...and we will always do the name you own price form now on. It cut our hotel fees in half. Here is Madi sitting on our balconey.

We picked Nicky up, checked out her house and went to see the Ballard Locks and the gardens there. We made sure to stop and smell the flowers. I tried not to plan our our trip too much. I didn't want to have to stick to a rigid schedule. We were on vacation and I figured....have fun and come what may.

We had fun watching the locks operate and checking out the gardens and the fish ladder.

more pics to follow

Time

It was about 80 degrees outside but Madi didn't care. She wanted to wear her goloshas.
Madi trying on her new helmet for her tricycle and she wears it in our pull behind bike trailor when we go on bike rides.

Madi is always trying to be like Mommy and Daddy. Here she is trying to sit with her feet on the table like mommy.

Look at that face.
and that one....I love her faces.
Our faces sometimes scare me...bu that is what parenthood does to you.

and sometimes it does that to you too
But at the end of the day, if you are still standing and smiling....you'll be okay
Time is a funny phenomenon. In great anticipation time can seem to creep along. Or time can careen our of control while we plug along in our everyday lives. A moment of clarity rushes over us and we realize an entire day, week, or even a month has passed. My moment of clarity come over me today and I relized wow THIS IS THE LAST WEEK IN MAY....Which lead to the following thoughts...which may or may not have been in this order.

1). How long has it been since I blogged (damn near 1 month by the way)
2). Only 1 month and it is Madi's birthday.....2 years old. (man where did that time go)
3). When I switched my schedule to working 3 days a week, I thought I would have all the time in the world to blog, run, clean, play dates, pretty much anything I wanted......
4) I seem more busy now then I was when I worked a full 40hours a week.
5) When did I last shave my legs
6) Hmm we have dentist, doctor and vet appointments coming up. They would be much easier to keep track of on an iphone
7) 3 months and I can have a iphone....

Needless to say....we have alot of catching up to do. I am posting many random pictures
