Just a regular weekend

Hi all, it was a pretty low key weekend here. Jason and I snuck off to see "Dark Knight" (Batman). It was a great movie. We don't treat ourselves to the theaters very often, but this one way worth it...and we saw a few previews of future movies that might merit a trip to the theater. Afterward, we jsut hung out at home. Madi was pretty crabby tonight. I think her teeth are bugging her. But a little TLC later and we had a much happier kiddo. While she was napping, Jason and I were working in the yard.....and wouldn't ya know it we soaked each other in a water fight. Hey, we cooled off, the car was rinsed off, and the water was watered.
She always seems to make us laugh. Here I think she is practicing her yoga down dog (Rach will understand).

Madilyn was fasincated with the TV program. For the life of me i can't remember what was on.

1 year check up

Madi had her 1 year check up yesterday. She is perfectly happy and healthy. She is in the 23rd percentile for her weight and the 71st percentile for her height. The doctor gave us sometime on how to get her to sleep through the night...yep we still get up about 2-3 times a night. We are slowing phasing them in...and hopefully in 1 weeks or 2 Jay and I will get some much need rest.

In the mean time....we are happy, healthy, and perfect.

Madi and Daddy just hangin'. I just love her face. Madi got into the fruit bowl. SHe found a necterine. Jason was doing something and heard slurping coming from the livingroom. She found it...Took it into the livingroom. Sat down and enjoyed. She makes me laugh everyday. SHe has such a funny, entertaining personality.

Here's moonchers squealling at me during dinner. SHe is a very vocal, noisey kid. SHe shreaks and squeals and laughs all the time.
My girl has a flair for the dramatic. Her emotions are always extreme and she wears them on her sleeve. WHen she is mad....holy moly, look out. She screams like we are torchering her. When she is happy it is the best sound ever. She thinks Mommy and Daddy are the most silly and funny people in the world. She is a daredevil, climbing on everything. She is fearless. We feel so blessed that God has given us this special girl and we are looking forward to every day, every minute, every moment!

Madi's birthday was an exciting day for everyone. We are so grateful that so much family could be part of it. Andrew, COurtney and Aiden were here from the East Coast, Alethia, Daniel and little Andrew from Caldwell, Id. Nicky from Tri-Citites, Laurie, Aaron, Micheal from WW, and Grandma, Grandpa, Nonna, David & Karen...whew!!! THank you all for sharing Madi's celebration.

Here is Madi's birthday dress. My Moonchy is "1"!!!! I just can't believe it. This is Madi's tiny little cake. I was expecting a mess from her digging into her first cake....uuummm, no! SHe was a lady, very daintily touching her cake.

I found this dress months ago and instantly wanted it to be her birthday dress. It was absolutley precious. I love having a daughter.
Madi wasn't too interested is opening presents, but she wanted to play with the one "WE" opened. Here is Madi and Aiden riding the two cars after we went swimming. It was a wonderful day. I am so glad that we had so many family members come to celebrate. I can't believe it has been 1 year. Happy Birthday Madi. Thank you for all the smiles and countless joy you bring to our lives.

Finished Kitchen

We have finished our kitchen. Two paint color changes with primer in between, broken plumbing pipes, and hundreds of trips to our local hardware store, but we are done. These pics are taken at 2 am, so you are not seeing how beautiful it is with natural light, but we couldn't be happier. WE LOVE IT!!! It completely feels like a different kitchen...like a different house.
We have a new dishwasher, an installed microwave hoodfan, new light fixtures, and tons of counterspace. The floor feels amazing and flows into the laundry room.
Here is a close up of the subway tile that Jason did. He did such an amazing job on everything. The tile, the trim, EVERYTHING....but the floor....that was all me!!!! Yup!
I'd like to give a great BIG THANKS to my mom....who watched Madilyn for countless hours while Jason and I worked. Thanks Nonna.

Happy Birthday Madi

Today was the big day, I am finally one! What a great day for presents and family, and my favorite, CAKE!!!! Grandma and Grandpa got me this cool picknick table and nana and Aunt nikki set up a great party for me. I really loved the balloons.


I can't wait to open up my presnents and get into the pool with mommy, yeah!

I love to splash and play in the pool with my mommy. How do you like my cute swim suit, I decided to wear it to help celebrate independence day.
WOW, what a great first birthday. I even got my very own fireworks show at the park. I can't wait for next year.
