Grant is not 9 weeks old. He has his 2 month appointment the other day. He is coming in at a whopping 12 lbs 11oz (73%) and 23 3/4 inches long (76%). He is growing so strong and big. He has been holding his head up since the day he was born (my kid has some muscles :-) ) but now he does it very well. He is such a wonderful boy and we are so blessed. Grant is pretty mellow. He likes to hang back and watch things happen.
He laughs and smiles and warms my heart. His eyes won't decide what color they would like to be. Some days they are light brown, some days are blue, some days grey, some days all three. Jason's eyes and both Grandmas eyes change colors depending on clothing or mood so his too might be like that.
He sleeps great through the night waking about every 3-4 hours to eats. He splits his time between his crib and our bed. (wow look at my freckles...they really do standout in this pic). Grant does have the acid reflux just like Madi....but we know the symptoms and precautions this time around and were able to catch it early before it became as advanced as Madi's. So he takes and acid blocker just like she did. I did notice quite early that milk in my diet made him fussy, gassy and miserable. So I cut dairy and "presto cresto" he was much better. So I have cut it out for the time being. I have gone back to work and this time around I didn't experience all the emotion and guilt that I did with Madi. But this time I am going back part time and she stays with Jason or Nana (My mom) or Grandma (Jason's mom). I trust them completely so that helps. I actually enjoy having a set time in my day were I can focus on something and get it done instead of constantly have to attend to a baby or an almost 3 year old. Speaking of an almost 3 year old......
Jason has been working on placing baseball. One day we will get he a bat and ball....but this impromptu lesson is being exercised with a vacuum cleaner tube and a toy ball. But she loves it. Madilyn is an incredibly athletic kid. She loves to run and will climb up and jump from anything. We have to be careful. Everyday she tests her limits and ours. I love her to pieces but I can't wait for this phase to be over. What amazes me is her intelligence as well. The things she notices and understands is amazing. To all you mothers out there - how do/did you keep your kids clean. I will be danged if I can keep Madi clean.....oh, the laundry.
But all in all we are growing everyday. We face new experiences, blessings, and challenges everyday. Thank goodness for Jason's help and we definitely couldn't do it with out both Grandmas... (thanks Nana, and Grandma).
P.S. we got our new jogger stroller.......now begins the new challenge of jogging. Man, I HATE running, but I would like to run/walk the Spokane Half Marathon in October AND have a small glimpse of the body I had oh so many years ago. Wish me luck.
