Pig out in the Park 08

It is Pig out in the Park time. For those of you forgien to SPokane.... THis is when most of the local resturaunts set up a booth in he giant park down town. Bands play, vendors sell purses, dresses, bags, toys, and people EAT!!! I asked Steve and Mary to join Madi and I at the park (Jason had to work today, we'll take daddy tomorrow). I tried Greek food for the first time and a Hawaiian Salmon. Steve ate a giant piece of cheesecake on a stick (can we say "heaven"). We had a great time.
Mary and I making our serious, sexy faces. As serious and one can get in a crowd of 15,000 people.
Here is Madi walking along next to Steve. I love how tiny she looks next to him. It reminds me of how small she is in comparision to everyone....but she has a huge presence and holds such a huge place in all our hearts.
Ahhh, Grandma and grandpa.....
This is Madi's new dress. While at the park, she dumped a lemonde on her capris and tshirt. I had just bought this dress for her to wear next summer. I had to put it on her in the park because her other clothes were wet. She had picked out the wear her pretty gold shoes earlier....turns out...they matched.
Her dress was too big. I had to use a clothes pin I found (how random, I know) to tie up the dress a little so she wouldn't trip. Madi loved her dress. She ran around the booths making so many people smile and comment on how adorable she is. I could only smile. Her personality and her sunshine dress really radiated to everyone and made us happy.
One of my favorite moments of the evening....Madi spotted Grandma in a booth, got very excited. I love that she know Grandma, Grandpa, and my mom Nonna. Having them in her life is so important.
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for hangin'. And we want to give a shout our to Grandma who tried a bite of my Greek gyros (which is yummy yummy by the way). It was a wierd thing for her, but she tried. Way to go.

Every Wednesday this summer, Madi and I watch "So You Think You Can Dance" last night was the final night for dancing (Tonight they crown a winner). We love this show. We dance to it. Last night the first routine was a Hip Hop routine and Madi wanted to join in. Man this kid makes me laugh. Good thing she has those dancin' shoes (see post below).

Every girl needs these!!!!

Recently I found a pair of gold shoes at a local consignment store. I couldn't resist. I think every girl needs a pair of these - shoes that make her feel like a million bucks. Here are Madi's.
She love them. We were getting ready for bed later that night. SHe was wearing just her diaper. SHe went and go her gold shoes and wanted me to put them on her so she could wear them before bed. Oh that kid makes me laugh.

Good Day

After I put Madi to bed, I sat down to watch my show and have a few minutes to myself. I began reviewing my day. My first thought was...."Today was a pretty low key day, nothing special." Then i corrected myself...today was a pretty good day....
Today was my day off. Madi slept through the night. she woke up in a good mood and we played together. When she went down for her morning nap. I had some time to exercise. I did 1/2 hour of belly dancing and 1/2 hour of yoga (Both were shows I have set to record on FIT tv). I then did a little work from home. Then Steve and Mary came over and visited for a short while. About that time Jason woke up from a late night of work the night before. Jay, Madi and myself went to lunch and the Olive Garden. I bought a sweather that was on clearance for only $10. THen we walked around the Riverpark. Jason went to work, and Madi and I layed down for a nap.
We played, picked some tomatoes from the garden, and watered the tree. After Madi's bath, she helped me bake a cake. While it cooled, I put Madi to bed. No crying, she kicked the side for just a few minutes, and very quickly went to bed. Whew!!!
Then I finished the cake.
I am very pround of this cake and it a vegan chocolate cake with HOMEMADE butter cream frosting. THe house is picked up, Madi and I had a great day, I got lunch and got to spend time with Jason. I got a new sweater for only $10 bucks. I baked a cake....and even blogged. It's days like this that make me feel like I am doing a good job. ANd a day where I feel like that is rare...and is a big deal. I wish you all a day like this. You deserve it, as do I.
